Mackieboy

Forever in our hearts
Mackie died just short of his 10th Birthday, but till the very last day of his life he held his head and tail proudly and high. His heart was never strong, but it was stout. There was never a more loving and loyal little man than our boy Mackie. He loved and protected our Levi Elvis, our Border Collies cowed to him. He did a little agility and in NADAC Tunnelers he was faster than dogs 2 and 3 times his size of 10 lbs. He enjoyed watching TV and barking at the intruders on the big screen. We thought when we adopted him at about 9 months old that he would be hard to housebreak. Not only was he easy, he learned every basic command and fun little tricks with ease. When he learned I was pulling him in a wagon to his "dinner" he learned to jump in fearlessly. When he learned that treats abounded with learning tricks, he couldn't learn fast enough. He learned to push a little wheel and he entertained the elderly in care homes. The best thing was the special brotherhood he shared with Levi Elvis. They travelled in a crate together and when they were boarded, they were inseparable. Mackie greeted each day with enthusiasm and loved to snuggle with us on the couch. We miss you so much Mackie! Mama counted on you to keep the kitchen floor clear of scraps that seemed to fall on the floor too often whenever you were there. Dad loved having you on his lap in the car, you were such a fun little guy. You left the biggest hole in our lives when you died . . .
