Bailey Boo

Forever in our hearts
Bailey Boo crossed the Rainbow Bridge on April 18, 2018, just 1 day short of her sixth birthday. She was a beautiful red Golden Retriever with big dark soulful eyes. Those big brown eyes were what caught my attention on the Golden Retriever Rescue of El Paso web site. I had lost Hannah Banana, another Golden Retriever, about 10 months earlier and hadn't seriously been looking for another dog. But when I saw Bailey Boo, I knew she was the one. I adopted her on April 19, 2014, and the vet in El Paso estimated her age at two. We bonded immediately and Bailey Boo and I entered therapy dog training. She was a natural and within six months she was bringing joy and healing into the lives of thousands of Wounded Warriors and their families and patients in rehab hospitals and nursing homes. Like so many Goldens, she succumbed to cancer-lymphosarcoma. Bailey Boo is a special dog, my soul mate, and I miss her terribly, but find solace in the fact that she is no longer in pain and is patiently waiting for me on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge.
